Before this development, no machine (as a single machine) was available for threshing of all six minor millets. Vivek millet thresher developed in ICAR-VPKAS, Almora is able to thresh only finger and barnyard millets. It is a unique machine which has a unique feature to carry on threshing of minor millets through alternatively fitting of canvas strip and cutting knife in six rows on the threshing drum.
